N.C. Senate earmarks funds for CSS Neuse (Kinston Free Press)
RALEIGH - Efforts to get funding from the state’s taxpayers to help preserve the Civil War ironclad CSS Neuse got a bump on Wednesday. The state Senate, by a 47-2 vote, gave its initial approval to a $20 billion budget that includes $500,000 earmarked for the ship, which rests in Kinston.
